Valentino, known for its ethereal designs, introduced the new Bloomy bag collection in Fall/Winter 2018. Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli transitioned from Renaissance-inspired softness to modern romantic elegance, making flowers—this romantic element—bold and powerful.

The Bloomy collection features soft leather shaped like blooming flowers, with flowing lines, three-dimensional layers, fan-shaped pleats, and vibrant colors. This unique visual language presents the designer’s new definition of romanticism.

Design Inspiration

Floral appliqués are the most important decoration this season, with patterns inspired by blooming pansies, where black and yellow create warm contrast.

Floral Pleats

The flap is shaped into “floral pleats” with remarkable three-dimensional effect. The signature “pyramid studs” are hidden in details, preserving a touch of rebellious personality within the romance.

The sides are fixed with metal rings to create pleated shapes, echoing the floral theme.

Soft Leather

The calfskin feels extremely comfortable. The pansy patterns are created with goat leather and python skin inlays, adding richness to the floral layers.

Magnetic Closure

The bag is based on the shape of a flap messenger bag, with a magnetic closure—a small detail that reflects modernity while making it more convenient to use.

Adjustable Strap

It comes with an adjustable strap that has four holes on each side, offering flexible length for both shoulder and crossbody wear to suit different body types.

The interior is generously spacious with suede lining that provides a tactile autumn/winter feel while protecting items from scratches.
