Celebrating its centennial anniversary, FENDI is bringing back the legendary Spy Bag in its Fall/Winter 2025 collection. The revival stays true to the original design with its signature hidden metal-framed compartment and hobo silhouette, while luxurious materials like glossy leather, shearling, and eel skin highlight its soft structure. The twisted handles add a touch of vintage elegance.
Originally designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi in 2005, the FENDI Spy Bag cleverly combines elements of hobo and messenger bags, quickly becoming one of the most iconic It Bags of the millennium. The name “Spy” refers to the bag’s secretive nature – featuring a discreet compartment concealed beneath the flap, accessible through a cleverly disguised snap closure.
“I particularly love the secret compartment because a bag is where we keep our most private belongings – it’s like an extension of ourselves. You can understand a person by looking inside their bag. We all have things we want to keep just for ourselves, and that was my inspiration for this hidden pocket.”

The reimagined FENDI Spy Bag celebrates the house’s heritage and creative spirit. Maintaining its iconic secret compartment, the compact hobo silhouette stays true to its millennial roots. Luxurious soft materials showcase exquisite leather craftsmanship, while the elegant twisted handles exude vintage charm. The leather ties add a playful touch, with every detail reflecting FENDI’s understanding of feminine sophistication.
The new FENDI Spy Bag will be available starting July 17, 2025, coming in regular and small sizes. The regular size is perfect for shoulder carry and features D-rings for accessories, while the small version is ideal for hand-carry with a detachable, adjustable strap for shoulder or crossbody wear.
The color palette focuses on neutral tones with refreshing pastel accents. The glossy leather version comes in chocolate brown, dark honey, and black, with the small size additionally available in muted pastel pink, mint green, and lemon sorbet. The shearling version features earth tones like truffle brown and beige, while the eel skin option showcases olive green or burgundy Pequin stripes. Special editions include herringbone mink-trimmed and cream astrakhan lamb fur-embroidered versions that highlight FENDI’s exceptional fur craftsmanship.
