Louis Vuitton × Takashi Murakami Collaboration: Nano Bucket Bag

The second chapter of the Louis Vuitton × Takashi Murakami collaboration introduces this charming Nano Bucket Bag, featuring playful smiling cherry blossoms and floating petals that capture the vibrant essence of spring.

Design Inspiration

This marks Louis Vuitton’s reunion with Murakami after 20+ years. Their groundbreaking 13-year collaboration began in 2002 when then-creative-director Marc Jacobs invited the artist, creating pieces that British VOGUE hailed as “the collaboration that defined the millennium.”

“In Japan, contemporary art is a very minor interest; but fashion is something that every Japanese person is very, very interested in.”

This spring collection revisits Murakami’s 2003 “Cherry Blossom” series, recreating his colorful, imaginative world through playful sakura motifs.

Bag Design

The Bucket Bag debuted in LV’s 1970s collections, evolving from the 1932 Noé design. This version features an oval base, dual handles, and includes a removable pouch.

This Nano Bucket (13×17×9cm) is the smallest and newest family member, launched in 2022. Its compact size perfectly complements the sweet pink design.

Craftsmanship
Made from Monogram canvas with pink fabric lining, the bag features a commemorative 20th Anniversary Louis Vuitton × Murakami leather tag.

The dual handles and adjustable strap (40-52cm) offer versatile carrying options. All leather accents use natural VVN (Vache végétal naturel) calfskin that develops a unique patina over time.
What Fits Inside
The open-top design and removable zippered pouch make organization easy while keeping the cherry blossom motif close at hand.

The 17cm height comfortably fits smartphones, while the 9cm base accommodates thicker items like compacts. Perfect for spring outings, dates, or museum visits.
