Louis Vuitton introduced the LV Remix collection in Spring 2024, revisiting archival pieces from the Marc Jacobs era of the 2000s. This handbag stars the iconic Alma bag, celebrating Y2K pop culture at the turn of the millennium.

The Alma bag traces its origins to 1934 when Gaston Vuitton created the Squire travel bag. In 1955, it evolved into the more urban Champs-Elysees trapezoidal handbag, named after the famous Parisian avenue.

In 1992, the Champs-Elysees was reimagined as the Alma bag, named after Paris’s Place de l’Alma. Its refined shell shape drew inspiration from Art Deco style, establishing Alma as one of LV’s most enduring designs.

After becoming LV’s creative director in 1997, American designer Marc Jacobs infused the Alma with fresh creativity through collaborations with artists like New York graffiti artist Stephen Sprouse and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.
