Louis Vuitton’s 2023 Summer Capsule Collection, themed “LV By The Pool”, draws inspiration from the hand-painted tiles commonly seen on Lisbon streets. The refreshing Mediterranean blue color scheme perfectly captures the essence of summer.

Portuguese hand-painted tiles (Azulejo) date back to the 13th century. The earliest tile-making techniques were introduced to the Iberian Peninsula (modern-day Spain and Portugal) by North African Moors. Influenced by Spanish mosaics, Italian tin-glazed pottery, blue Delft tiles, and Vienna’s Art Nouveau movement, they gradually evolved into popular architectural decorations.

The summer collection combines the brand’s iconic Monogram flowers, LV initials with mosaic tile patterns. The gradient tones create a watercolor-like effect, presenting a light and fresh appearance reminiscent of shimmering pool water in summer.

The bag features four different sizes of Monogram prints arranged symmetrically. The front and back showcase watercolor-style LV initials and Giant Monogram patterns, while the sides and base display blue-and-white tile motifs.
