Louis Vuitton Masters Messenger Bag
June 5, 2025
This messenger bag comes from Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with contemporary artist Jeff Koons for the “Masters Collection”, which reimagines classic artworks by Van Gogh, Monet, Gauguin and other masters with modern artistic elements.

Artist Inspiration
The “Masters Collection” draws inspiration from Jeff Koons’ “Gazing Ball” project, where he reproduced classical masterpieces with a reflective blue sphere placed centrally, allowing viewers to see themselves reflected in the artwork.

“These works regain energy, these images come back to life because they are participating in our time, so they come alive again as if in a new medium. Whether in the unique new medium of the ‘Gazing Ball’ painting series or in the medium of handbags.”

Design & Materials
The bag features Monet’s famous “Water Lilies” painting, chosen by Koons as the most representative of Monet’s 250+ lily pond works, currently housed at the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo.

The coated canvas recreates the textured oil painting effect, with “MONET” prominently displayed on the front. The monogram pattern has been modified for the first time to include Jeff Koons’ initials “JK” and signature in gold foil.
Carrying Options

The bag features light blue natural leather trim with matching handle and adjustable strap, offering multiple carrying options including hand-carry, shoulder, and crossbody styles.
