Louis Vuitton has just released the new Capucine Bag from its 2025 Resort Collection. The highlight of this season’s design is the woven wicker detailing, featuring a natural wicker body, leather-wrapped handles, and watercolor-printed lining. These breathable natural materials infuse the elegant silhouette with a relaxed holiday vibe.
The campaign, starring brand ambassador Zendaya, was shot in the Italian coastal paradise of Riviera, with surreal proportions creating a whimsical “Lilliputian” effect.
The Capucines bag was first introduced in 2013, paying homage to Louis Vuitton’s first boutique opened in 1854 on Rue Neuve-des-Capucines. Its timeless trapezoidal shape features an LV Initials metal emblem embedded into the flap through leather marquetry. Each bag undergoes 250 meticulous steps and is hand-assembled by skilled artisans.
The new Capucines draws inspiration from Louis Vuitton’s 1892 picnic trunk, featuring a woven wicker body paired with calfskin flaps, handles, and trim. Artisans soak and soften natural willow before hand-weaving it into a three-dimensional structure. The leather-wrapped handles echo the craftsmanship, while the watercolor Monogram-printed lining adds a romantic touch.
Available in BB and Mini sizes. The small size comes in caramel and navy blue, while the Mini offers woven handles in caramel or smooth Taurillon calfskin in pink, white, and black.
