The GV Bucket debuted in Givenchy’s Pre-Fall 2018 collection. Creative Director Clare Waight Keller drew inspiration from naval duffel bags to create this minimalist yet functional design.
The soft leather and bucket silhouette ensure ample capacity, while the adjustable strap offers versatile carrying options – just like the military duffel that inspired it. The clasp and chain details echo the drawstring closure of the original duffel bags.

· Diamond Quilting ·
Losange (diamond pattern) is one of Givenchy’s most iconic elements. Founder Hubert de Givenchy began incorporating it into his designs in the 1950s through various techniques including weaving, printing, and patchwork.
The quilting technique enhances the diamond pattern, creating a plump silhouette with natural leather luster. The zigzag stitching adds a vintage touch.
The top center diamond features an embossed white “GIVENCHY PARIS” logo.
· Vintage GG Hardware ·
The distressed GG clasp on the side is the bag’s most ingenious design element. The vintage finish adds character while concealing the strap adjustment mechanism.
The square “Kissing GG” clasp is Clare Waight Keller’s new design for the brand and the most distinctive element of the GV series, symbolizing romantic love.
The opposite side features a metal ring for attaching decorative charms.
· Versatile Styling ·
The strap adjustment mechanism is hidden beneath the Kissing GG clasp. Simply push the metal plate outward from inside the bag, pull the strap down, and secure it to the bottom clasp to switch between lengths.
The strap extends to the base and is secured outside the side stitching, creating symmetry with the opposite side.
The base features a nearly square silhouette with inward-curving arcs on both sides.
The supple leather allows the bag to be folded – simply rotate it 90°, fold both sides inward, secure with the magnetic clasp, and shorten the strap.
The transformed bag becomes a compact clutch, with the side hardware now serving as a decorative front element.

The interior features soft microfiber lining that’s gentle and scratch-resistant. A square of sturdy leather reinforces the base, maintaining the structured silhouette.
The ultra-lightweight leather makes the bag practically weightless.
