The rectangular quilted pattern is the most distinctive design element of this bag. The quilting technique divides the soft lambskin into plump squares, highlighting the natural luster of the leather and adding a vintage charm.
The history of Matelassé quilting dates back 5,000 years, with traces found in ivory carvings from Egypt’s First Dynasty (3400 BC). By the 5th century AD, quilting became part of traditional embroidery techniques used in everyday clothing.

The bag’s body and sides feature horizontal and vertical quilting patterns respectively, creating an interesting interplay of lines. The edges are reinforced with leather piping for structure. The rounded corners and soft leather create a comfortable, approachable elegance.

The chain strap adds a modern touch, featuring brass links with polished facets for a rugged look that contrasts beautifully with the vintage quilting. The diamond-cut chain is inspired by the metal chains around Paris’s Arc de Triomphe.
