Neo Classic Runway

The original City Bag was designed as “a cool bag girls could carry on motorcycles,” earning its Motorcycle Bag nickname. Its signature elements include 12 metal studs, leather zip tassels, and specially distressed leather – a radical departure from mainstream elegance when launched. Even after 20 years, it remains Balenciaga’s It Bag.

Compared to the classic, the Neo Classic introduces an architectural trapezoid shape with cleaner lines that reflect current aesthetics and Creative Director Demna Gvasalia’s vision for Balenciaga.

The Neo Classic retains signature Motorcycle Bag elements – the extra-long leather tassels add playful movement, while silver circular studs maintain that punk edge.

The woven handles are handcrafted by artisans who pierce and wrap leather cords, evoking Western cowboy style while providing slip-resistance and durability.

Python-Embossed Calfskin

To achieve its structured silhouette, designers replaced the classic distressed lamb leather with firmer calfskin.

The standout feature is the all-over python embossing – capturing the wild beauty of snakeskin with natural black-gray patterns and intricate mesh scales that create remarkable texture.

The python pattern extends across every detail, lending an advanced, edgy vibe even when paired with simple white tees and jeans.

Detachable Shoulder Strap

In addition to woven handles, the bag comes with a detachable shoulder strap in matching python-embossed calfskin, featuring padded shoulders for comfortable crossbody or shoulder wear.

What Fits Inside?

The bag features two-way zipper closure with a simple single compartment for easy access. We comfortably fit a phone, headphones, cardholder, travel perfume, keys, lipstick, and tissues, with room to spare for compacts or power banks. The front zippered pocket holds flat items like IDs.
