Design Inspiration

FENDI first introduced the Baguette Soft Trunk in its Fall/Winter 2022 Menswear Collection, evolving from the iconic Baguette while retaining the signature FF clasp and flap design. The clean boxy structure adds a masculine edge, with fabric and leather construction making it significantly lighter and more spacious than acrylic hard-case versions.

The Spring/Summer 2023 Menswear Collection drew inspiration from earth, sea and sky, exploring summer dressing through natural hues like melon green, indigo blue, ocher yellow, gray-brown, cornflower blue and silver-gray. The Baguette Soft Trunk adopted seasonal blue-gray tones, perfectly capturing summer’s relaxed vibe.

Craftsmanship Details

The minimalist FF magnetic clasp is the bag’s most striking feature, crafted from palladium metal with silver finish that complements the blue-gray body.

The iconic FF logo was created in 1967 by late creative director Karl Lagerfeld, representing the concept of “Fun Fur”. With FENDI, Fun and Fur all sharing the same initials, Karl sketched the FF design in just five seconds.

The logo features two mirrored “F”s, initially appearing only in FENDI luggage linings in black and tobacco brown. Over time, the FF logo evolved into the modern rectangular pattern composed of interlocking “F”s seen today.

The bag is constructed from gray-black FF jacquard recycled fabric, combining lightweight eco-conscious materials with distinctive style. The functional magnetic clasp allows easy one-handed operation.

The blue calfskin trim adds a striking accent, with clean lines emphasizing the modern geometric silhouette while providing structural reinforcement. The refreshing blue hue makes a universally appealing color choice.
