The serpent is one of the world’s oldest animal totems, symbolizing temptation, rebirth, and transformation. From Asclepius’s healing rod in Greek mythology to Nehebkau in Egyptian lore, from China’s Nuwa to India’s cosmic serpent Shesha, the snake has held profound meaning across cultures. It has also been BVLGARI’s most important design motif since the late 1940s.
The Serpentine Clutch captures the serpent’s sinuous elegance through BVLGARI’s exquisite jewelry craftsmanship. A brass mold forms the winding snake body, with hand-engraved diamond patterns recreating scales. Polishing creates luminous reflections, while hand-painted red enamel eyes add mesmerizing detail.
