The Givenchy GV3 Small Bag
June 5, 2025
Featuring a vintage-inspired clasp, two-tone colorblock design, and striking silhouette, the GV3 Small Bag debuted in Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection as the first handbag designed by then-new creative director Clare Waight Keller.

The Story Behind the Name
“GV3” derives from the address of Givenchy’s Paris headquarters at 3 Avenue George V, established in 1959. This historic building once served as the residence of the Duke of Caraman and housed Givenchy’s first boutique.

Design Details
The bag features a unique triple-compartment accordion structure that expands for generous storage while maintaining a compact profile when closed.

The side accordion pleats add dimensional interest, while the silver-toned “GIVENCHY PARIS” ring hardware provides vintage-inspired detailing.

The bag combines two distinct leather finishes – the blue section features smooth goatskin treated with Tamponato dyeing for rich color, while the red suede adds textural contrast.

The signature Kissing magnetic clasp features an openwork “G” design, inspired by “lovers gazing at each other” for a romantic touch.

Inside, the nubuck lining offers a soft feel with excellent durability to protect contents from scratches.

Practical Organization
The bag’s expandable interior features six compartments: one zippered pocket for small items, two slip pockets for travel documents, two exterior pockets, and a spacious main compartment.

Includes both a detachable leather strap and metal chain that functions as both a handle and decorative shoulder strap accent.
