The Miu Miu Autumn/Winter collection’s picnic bag continues the brand’s signature girlish aesthetic. Designers have ingeniously dressed wicker baskets in soft pastel-hued fur, with the fluffy pile conveying warmth while the wicker woven basket adds a playful touch of autumn picnic charm.

The Picnic collection baskets first appeared in Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Designer Miuccia Prada drew inspiration from the fashion of female college students during the baby boom era (1950s-1960s), incorporating wicker elements into handbag designs. Paired with items like plaid chiffon dresses and sequined tulle skirts, these pieces created a retro academic girl aesthetic.

The combination of fur and wicker is innovative and striking, creating a seasonally ambiguous mix that blends summer beach freshness with winter coziness, while the honey-colored wicker adds an autumnal touch.

The upper part of the picnic basket is covered in pink-and-white fox fur, with its fluffy texture creating a dreamy effect. When the breeze blows, the floating fur adds a sense of lazy afternoon relaxation.

Begonia Pink Handles and Detachable Strap

Two begonia pink lambskin handles are sewn into the fur, with their widened design and soft leather enhancing comfort. The front features a white Miu Miu logo that echoes the pink-and-white color scheme of the fox fur.

Additionally, it comes with a detachable, adjustable-length leather shoulder strap, making it more suitable for crossbody or shoulder wear when shopping.

Thoughtful Interior Design

The tightly woven wicker is sturdy and structured, lined with pink satin that adds sweetness. Although it’s an open-top design, the fluffy fur already covers the opening, providing privacy protection.
